where the application form is sent by
post, the date of posting; or
where the application form is sent by courier, the date on which it is delivered to the Home Office; or
where the application form is submitted in person, the date which it is accepted by our premium service centre; or
where the application is made via the online application process, on the date on which the online application is submitted.
For applications made outside the UK:
The date of the application is the date that the fee associated with the application is paid.This means the date is shown on your payment receipt, which depends on how you paid for your visa app location, for example, at British Diplomatic Post, visa application centre or online.
