Responses to charging consultation
Posted by : Home Office - UK Border Agency February 01,2011

The UK Border Agency has published its formal response to its 2009 public consultation on the fees it charges for immigration and visa applications.

The consultation ran for 12 weeks from 9 September to 1 December 2009, and we received a total of 98 replies. We would like to thank all who took the time to contribute to this important debate and give us their views on our proposals.

We have listened to the respondents' views, which showed broad support for the headline measures but concerns about some of the supporting proposals. These comments are reflected in our response, which you can download from the Consultations section of this website.

Our fees proposals are currently being developed and are due to be laid before Parliament during the first quarter of 2010.
