Overseas government employees switching into Tier 5 (temporary worker) - international agreements
Posted by : UK Border Agency November 16,2009

The Border and Immigration Minister, Phil Woollas, has agreed to allow those with leave to enter or remain as overseas government employees (paragraphs 160-162 and 164-165 of the Immigration Rules) to switch into the Tier 5 (temporary worker)- international agreements sub-category of the points-based system.

The Minister has also agreed to allow officials of the Taipei Representative Office who currently hold work permits (paragraph 128-129 and 131-132) to similarly switch into this category. These changes will be reflected in the Immigration Rules in due course.

Please see the temporary workers - international agreement page of this website for information on how to apply.
